Alexis Mabille collection at Lynk Fashion Show 2015

In less than one month, Vietnamese fashion lovers had another opportunity to enjoy another genuine Haute Couture collection from Paris the city of light. Those are creations of Alexis Mabille Haute Couture designer. At first he only intended to present only 20 creations of Fall Winter 2015-16 collection, however Ly Nha Ky successfully persuaded Alexis Mabille to carry to Vietnam additional 18 creations from his different Haute Couture collection. This year is the year Alexis Mabille marked 10^th anniversary of being a couturier, hence this mixed up collection is also to show audience his development path in the world of Haute Couture seasons by seasons.

A random coincidence is 2 models who opened and ended the show are 2 contestants of Vietnam’s Next Top Model this year. Kim Phuong opened the show in a Fall Winter Haute Couture creation with a gigantic bow which is also the symbol of Alexis Mabille, like a way he introduced himself to Vietnamese audience. Next are creations made in lace, feathers, taffeta with metallic threads, crystal beadings and fringes with variation in feminine silhouettes. Although these creations are not from the same collection but Alexis Mabille had cleverly arranged them in order of colors changing from lightness to darkness, from neutral to striking ones. You will have a chance to see a one-shoulder bow dress with metallic threads in charcoal grey color from Haute Couture Fall Winter 2012 collection, a feather mixed with lace in white from Haute Couture Fall Winter 2013 collection, or a lace look-alike cape sleeve dress that Ly Nha Ky onces wore another version in red in Cannes Film Festival this year from the Haute Couture Fall Winter 2014 collection. On and on, fashion lovers seemingly turned each page of 10^th year history of Alexis Mabille in Paris, an uncommon opportunity that is not available any time.

Speaking specifically about Fall Winter 2015 creations, this is the collection that the designer dedicates especially to her muses, turning close relationships into personal creations, custom made work-of-art of each VIP client like the purest meaning of Haute Couture. The portraits of Alexis’s beloved women shows through each creation, like the satin silk corset emerald corset dress with the embroidery scarf hanging down behind, was made for Dita Von Teese muse in imagination. Or the black & white suit that Le Thuy model wore is an honor towards the legendary French movie star 84-year-old Leslie Caron.

The hyper-tall girl Hong Xuan seemingly is favored by the French couturier. After Julien Fournié, Alexis Mabille chose her to be the vedette to close the show. The 190cm model donned a ombre lace gown dress styled with shirt knotted at the waist – a trend of casualizing high fashion. Therefore, although there were not many dresses showing the spirit of maximalism of Alexis Mabille (maybe aim at Asian clients), however Vietnamese audience did have a good time beholding subtle Haute Couture from France.
